FAQs

We know starting therapy can come with a lot of questions and we are here to make the process feel as clear and supportive as possible. Below are some of the most common questions we receive from new clients and families.

  • 15-Minute Consultation – Always complimentary
We believe finding the right fit matters. Every family begins with a brief complimentary consultation call where we’ll answer your questions, share more about our approach, and help you determine if The LiveWell Collective may be the right match for your current needs.

Initial Intake Session or Parent Session – $200
For many families, the first session begins with parents or guardians. Starting this way allows us to gather a thorough history, understand your child’s symptoms in context, and discuss your observations and concerns without your child feeling the pressure of “performing” on day one. This session sets the stage for a thoughtful and effective treatment plan. Parent sessions are 60 minutes in length, designed to give space for both assessment and collaboration as we begin tailoring care to your family’s needs.

    Ongoing Individual Sessions – $140–$200
The cost of ongoing sessions varies depending on the provider. Most therapy sessions are scheduled weekly and last 50 minutes, though extended session times or more frequent sessions may be recommended based on your child’s or family’s needs.

  • At The LiveWell Collective, we’ve chosen a model that keeps our focus where it belongs - on you and your child. That means prioritizing individualized care, protecting your privacy, and giving our therapists the freedom to recommend what will best support your family. For this reason, we operate as a self-pay private practice and do not bill insurance companies directly.

Many families are still able to receive partial reimbursement if their plan includes out-of-network mental health coverage. We’re glad to provide superbills and detailed receipts to submit to your insurance company, and when appropriate, we can also prepare supporting letters to help with reimbursement requests.

Choosing a self-pay practice can offer meaningful benefits:

    • Privacy and flexibility: Your therapy remains confidential, with no requirement to share personal clinical information with an insurance company.

    • Specialized treatment: Our team focuses on evidence-based approaches like CBT and ERP, which are often difficult to find in-network.

    • Care on your terms: We’re not bound by insurance-imposed limits on diagnoses, frequency, or duration of sessions, allowing us to tailor care to your needs.

If you’re unsure whether your policy includes out-of-network reimbursement, we can provide a list of helpful questions to ask your insurance provider so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

  • All of our individual therapy services are currently offered via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth. This allows us to serve clients across the state of Florida, making therapy more accessible for busy families, students, and individuals.

Virtual therapy has been shown to be highly effective for anxiety disorder, OCD treatment, and related conditions, especially when using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). In fact, working virtually often allows clients to complete exposures in their real-life environments - at school, at home, in social settings - making progress even more applicable and sustainable.

We’ve found that many clients, particularly children and teens, feel more comfortable opening up and practicing skills in the environments where they actually face their triggers.

  • We specialize in working with a wide range of age groups, from children to young adults, and we tailor treatment based on developmental stage, clinical need, and personal goals.

    We currently serve:

    Children (ages 6 and up):
We support kids navigating anxiety, OCD, school refusal, phobias, social struggles, behavioral challenges, and more. Parent involvement is a key part of our work with this age group, and we partner closely with caregivers to ensure skills are supported outside of sessions.

    Tweens & Teens:
We provide developmentally appropriate care for adolescents dealing with challenges such as social anxiety, panic attacks, perfectionism, generalized anxiety, intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and low mood. Therapy includes psychoeducation, CBT-based skill building, and exposure-based strategies tailored to their needs.

    Young Adults & College Students:
We offer support around identity development, managing independence, school/work stress, anxiety, OCD, and transitions in relationships or life direction. Many young adults benefit from ERP for OCD, support with emotional regulation, and guidance navigating high-functioning anxiety or burnout.

    Parents & Caregivers:
Whether you're looking for your own support or guidance around parenting a child with anxiety or OCD, we provide both individual parent sessions and structured support/educational groups. We focus on helping parents feel confident, connected, and equipped.

    Neurodivergent Clients:
We work with clients who have autism, ADHD, or learning differences, particularly when these exist alongside anxiety or OCD. Our therapists offer affirming care that supports executive functioning, flexible thinking, emotional regulation, and skill-building in real-world situations.

  • Yes! We believe caregivers are essential partners in the therapy process. For this reason, we offer:

    • Individual parent support sessions

    • Parent University: a rotating-topic group for current clients to provide education and community

    • Workshops and virtual events designed to equip and empower parents supporting a child or young adult with anxiety disorders, OCD, and related concerns.
